Rodeo Art

On February 8th, Moulton Elementary U.I.L. participants and Houston Rodeo Art participants received their rewards for hard work in the form of an awards ceremony. The creative artwork was displayed for all to enjoy, and the cafeteria was open for public viewing that evening.

The results are as follows. Beau Porter secured a second place in Creative Writing which was coached by Pamela Hamilton. Claire Smolik and Hayden Grafe participated in the event as well. In Storytelling, coached by April Simper, Madden Moore took home first place, Jordan Leadford fifth place, and Cash Porter participated. In Spelling, coached by Pamela Hamilton, Camilia Alvarez won sixth place, along with Hayden Grafe and Clayton Chaloupka who participated.

In third grade Ready Writing, coached by Tiffany Janak, Joyce West won fifth place, and Danielle Robinson and Yaritza Solano participated. In Storytelling, also coached by Tiffany Janak, the participants were Joyce West, April Hernandez, and Christine Balderas. In Spelling, coached by Mrs. Janak, Skyra Kalisek took home fourth place, Joyce West fifth place, and Liam Brooks participated. In Music Memory, coached by John Patek, Christine Balderas won second place, Joyce West third place, and Nicolle Manzano, Danielle Robinson, and Ryan Brown participated. The third grade Music Memory team earned first place!

In fourth grade Ready Writing, coached by Jennifer Morrison, Kaidence Mesa won first place, Ayesha Obando won fourth place, and Analeigh Lowe participated. Jackie Mitchon coached fourth grade Number Sense. Addy Villegas won fourth place and Cole Mikulencak and Tyler Rothbuer participated. Taking first place as a team in Music Memory, coached by John Patek, were Ayesha Obando in second place, Cole Mikulencak in third place, Jacob Janak in fourth place, Kaidence Mesa in sixth place, and Hazel Pierce participated. Oral Reading, coached by Michelle Ramos, finished with Cole Mikulencak winning first place and Tyler Rothbauer and Analeigh Lowe participating. In Spelling, coached by Jennifer Morrison, Kaidence Mesa won sixth place and Ayesha Obando and Danna Solano participated.

In fifth grade Ready Writing, Michelle Ramos coached Daniel Hernandez Carrillo, who won fourth place, Kyler Mikulencak, who won fifth place, and Shelby Rothbauer, who participated. In Social Studies, coached by Tiffany Janak, Victoria Simper took sixth place, and Nicholas Simper and Ava Williams participated. In Maps, Graphs, and Charts, coached by Tia Meisetschleager, Shelby Rothbauer took first place, while Victoria Simper and Nicholas Simper participated.

Listening was coached by Michelle Ramos. Hattie Cinadr won first place, Kyler Mikulencak won fifth place, and Victoria Simper participated. In Spelling, coached by Jennifer Morrison, Shelby Rothbauer won second place, while Victoria Simper and Daniel Hernandez-Carrillo participated. Tia Meisetschleager coached Dictionary Skills. Selby Rothbauer won first place, Victoria Simper won third place, and Clayton Hajek won fifth place. In Number Sense, coached by Jackie Mitchon, Shelby Rothbauer won second place, Clayton Hajek won third place, and Zackary Brown took fifth place. Michelle Ramos coached Oral Reading. Kyler Mikulencak won first place, Victoria Simper took second place, and Rena Pierce took home sixth place. Music Memory, coached by John Patek, won first place as a team with Kyler Mikulencak in first, Rena Pierce in third, Nicholas Simper in sixth, and Blakely Pilat and Zackary Brown participating.

In sixth grade Dictionary Skills, coached by Tia Meisetschleager, Eli Chaloupka won first place, and Amelia Buehring and Hailey Rothbauer tied for second place. Tiffany Janak coached Listening, and Lorenzo Tousek won first place. Owen Main and Corbin Miller participated in the event. Tia Meisetschleager coached Social Studies with Hudson Colburn earning second place and Patrick Cinadr earning sixth place. Spelling, coached by Jennifer Morrison, finished with Amelia Buehring winning first place, Patrick Cinadr winning second place, and Hailey Rothbauer taking fifth place. Participating in Oral Reading, coached by Michelle Ramos, were Hailey Rothbauer, Lorenzo Tousek, and Eli Chaloupka. The Music Memory team, coached by John Patek, took first place with Lorenzo Tousek winning first place, Hailey Rothbauer taking second place, and Hudson Colburn, Alex De Los Santos, and Patrick Cindr participating. Calculators was coached by Jackie Mitchon, and the team finished with Isaiah Chaloupka winning third, Lorezno Tousek taking fifth, and Eli Chaloupka participating. Jennifer Morrison coached Ready Writing. Amelia Buehring won first place, and Isaiah Chaloupka and Eli Chaloupka participated. The Number Sense team, coached by Jackie Mitchon, Isaiah Chaloupka won first place, Lorenzo Tousek took fourth place, and Eli Chaloupka earned sixth place. The Mathematics team, coached by Jackie Mitchon, Eli Chaloupka, Isaiah Chaloupka, and Hailey Rothbauer took third, fifth, and sixth place respectively.

Lisa Zidek, Anita Drabek, and Missy Berckenhoff have been instrumental in helping participants to enter and win awards at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest. In grades second through fifth, Victoria Simper won Best of Show, and Ayesha Obando won a gold medal. In the sixth through eighth category, Alex De Los Santos won Best of Show, and Lorenzo Tousek won a gold medal. At the high school level, Best of Show went to Madison McLaughlin, and Madison Raab and Krystal Morales won gold medals. The high school students were featured by the Moulton Eagle in the February 1st edition. The winning artwork is on display at Houston Rodeo.
