Mrs. Ramos' 4th grade social studies class created their own businesses. Students learned about fixed and variable costs, consumers and producers, and cost of goods sold. They were given a budget and had free reign to create product(s) out of paper, beads, pipe cleaners, string, etc. These creative kiddos had to make sure their product sold for more than it cost them to make it. They also learned many life lessons along the way, especially when it came time for rent and utilities to be paid! Overall, the 4th grade class had a blast working with their classmates on this hands-on project.
